平遥明清四大巨富之一--乔家，在古陶发展史册上载有浓重的一笔。
乔家于明洪武十三年由汾西乔家湾迁居古城平遥，由农转商，以滚雪球方式发展，先后在太原以至京、津、唐等八大城市建立了日杂、百货、布匹、颜料、钱庄、当铺、漆器等多门类的商埠字号，盛期资本达数百万银两，成为古陶商业巨子，直到一九四四年遭日寇洗劫而衰落。
　　乔家历代十分重视培养人材，曾取得科举考试合格的秀才就达35名，确保了事业后继有人，全国第一票号日升昌在北京的分号经理就是从乔家聘用的。乔家文化层次的优越，奠定了乔家应有的社会政治地位，仅清代就有十数人跻身吏界，其中兵部千总两名，五品监翎一名，十一世孙乔崇吉升任户部清吏。
　　铭刻着“树德务滋”家训的巨大牌匾，是乔家积德崇义，以“万佛之家”美誉冠古城的佐证。据其家谱载，其15世孙乔法舜灾年施贫邻粮谷百担之多，获官府旌奖。十五世孙乔壮观父亡后，嫡母久瘫病榻，该“舜日侍左右，寝不懈衣者八年”之久，以至朝廷授之“旌表演孝子”奖匾。
　　经精心整建复修的乔家旧址，现已辟为集旅游、住宿、餐饮、娱乐四位一体的高档人文景观。房舍宏大华美，是古城明清古典建筑之精品。
　　乔家庄园位于古城西南门头街11号,总投资1400万元，庄园占地面积6000余平方米，由莅临繁华街市南大街之古店铺、旧花园、场房院、窑楼院、宾馆院等众体明清古建筑组成。是拍摄电影、电视理想之地。
　　庄园拥有高中低档民宅客房60多套，床位200多张，一次就餐可达500多人，有大小会议室、停车场、卡拉OK歌舞厅、程控电话、空调、闭路电视等样样齐全。

Qiaojia was one of the four wealthy families in Pingyao in Ming and Qing dynasty. It contributed a lot to the development of ceramics.
Qiaojia migrated from Fenxi to old city Pingyao in the year of Hongwu the 13th. After that, Qiaojia started to engage in business and then they opened lots stores for everyday wares, cloth and things like that. Moreover, they opened up the private banks, pawnshops and so on in Bejing, Tianjin and other six cities. The capital had been reached millions of silver in its booming times. Qiaojia declined after the Japanese looted in 1994.
Qiaojia had been valuing to learn all kinds of knowledge. There had been 35 people who pass the imperial examination so that there is technical staff in the following years. The manager of the branch of the Pingyao money exchange shop in Beijing is employed from Qiaojia. Thus the perfect educational level caused the high status in the political area, only in Qing dynasty, there are about more than two thousand people worked in the military offices.





The huge board is carved with be of great virtue, which is the good proof of the so called Family of Buddha of Qiaojia. It is said that Qiaojia always helped the poor during the hard times and the Court awarded the family a lot of medals. Another things， Sun Qiaozhuang win a high reputation because of his filial obedience.
After the elaborately redecoration, Qiaojia courtyard has been transformed to high-class artificial scenery with the services of travel, accommodations, diets and amusements. The houses are big and elegant and they are representatives of classical architecture in Ming and Qing dynasty in the old city.
Qiaojia is located at NO11 Southwest Street in the city; the whole money invested reached 14 million Yuan and covered an area of over 6 thousand square meters. It is a good place to shoot a firm or a TV series which is made up of some old stores, old gardens and so on .
The courtyard has more than 60 houses of different grades, and over 200 beds, and the dining room can hold more than 5 hundred of people.
